Blanquerna Auditorium (Barcelona) will host the XXIII Cable and Broadband Catalonia Congress (April 2018)

Blanquerna Auditorium of the Ramon Llull University, in the heart of Barcelona (a few meters from Plaza Catalunya), will host the XXIII Cable and Broadband Catalonia Congress-2018, organized by the Cable Studies Center (CECABLE), Blanquerna-Ramon Llull University and Acotec (Catalan Association of Cable Operators) on April 10 and 11, 2018. “The itinerant and interuniversity nature of the event is reflected again, always with the technology transfer approach between university and business”, says the director of the CECABLE and professor of the University, Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón.

The event, which will gather numerous conferences of companies and entities, has the support of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), the Mediterrani University School of the University of Girona, the University of Barcelona, ​​the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​the Open University of Catalonia, the Camilo José Cela University, EAE Business School, Euncet and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

The conferences analyze strategic indicators of telecommunications in Catalonia, such as the evolution of broadband technology, consumer behaviour in the face of new offers and the most attractive contents.

The first session will analyze, on April 10, “Broadband in Catalonia and Spain”, with the participation of Wifidom, D-Link, Sony, Xarxa Oberta de Catalunya, Telefónica, Eurona, Cellnex and other companies, and the round table “The role of the Catalan and Spanish historical cable for territorial balance” (CECABLE, Alpha Enginyeria de Telecomunicacions, Acotec, Official College of Telecommunications Engineers, Xarxes de l’Ebre Internet i Comunicacions, Bitnap, Mequinenza City Council and Aire Networks).

On April 11, the block “Solutions and impacts of broadband” will host, among others, the presentations of BT, Fibraigua, VMark, Anxanet, Promax, and the round table “How to stimulate competition between operators?” (CECABLE, Generalitat of Catalonia, CNMC, Feceminte, Telecos.cat, COETTC, CNMC, Aotec and Xarxa Oberta de Catalunya).
