“Use of social networks for hotel reservations in young people: empirical analysis” is indexed international scientific paper by Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón, Dr. Elena Puiggròs, Mònica Muñoz, Dr. Pedro Mir, Dr. Gaspar Berbel, Dr. Oscar Gutiérrez, Lluís Feliu, Dr. Eva Santana and Dr. Josep Rom in International Journal of Scientific Management and Tourism (IJOSMT) with ISSN 2386-8570 (online version) and ISSN 2444-0299 (printed version).

In the article, using a quantitative methodology, the authors discussed how young people use social media to make hotel reservations. Facebook, Booking, Twitter, Google+ and TripAdvisor are the best known social media, while Instagram and Foursquare are the least. The fact that in each user’s environment most people are connected is the main driving force behind the use of the media and social networks.

The article comes from the research of the Research Group on Digital Journalism and Marketing and Broadband and Research Group on Innovative Monetization Systems of Digital Journalism, Marketing and Tourism (SIMPED), from CECABLE, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the University School Mediterrani of the University of Girona, Ramon Llull University (Blanquerna) and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
