Scientific communication of Dr. Fondevila et altri in Lisbon on the use of social media in fast food companies

“Social media use of fast food companies” is the scientific communication of Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón, Dr. Pedro Mir, Dr. Josep Rom and Dr. Monica Muñoz at the CISTI Workshops 2017 Conference (Company Management, Communication and Digital Social Networks), developed in Lisbon from June 21 to 24, 2017.

This communication analyzes empirically the use of social media by fast food companies. It is concluded that the highest level of audience participation corresponds to McDonald’s, followed by Pizza Hut and Burger King. KFC accumulated a tenth of the leader’s daily interactions. There is no correlation between the number of followers and their commitment.

The study corresponds to the research task of the Research Group on Digital Journalism and Marketing and Broadband and the Research Group on Innovative Monetization Systems of Journalism, Marketing and Digital Tourism (SIMPED), of the CECABLE, the Pompeu Fabra University, Escola Universitària Mediterrani of the University of Girona and Blanquerna-Universitat Ramon Llull, and of which Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón is the main researcher, and of the GRECC Group, of the URL.
