The moment of cable and broadband event

Fifty conferences of companies and organizations and numerous stands will star in the XXI Cable and Broadband Catalonia Congress-2016, organized by the Cable Studies Center (CECABLE), the Department of Communication and the Observatory of Scientific Communication of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and Acotec (Catalan Association of Cable Telecommunications Operators). The event will be held from 3 to 5 May 2016 in the 22 @ Barcelona (Poblenou Campus Auditorium, which brings together the Faculty of Communication and the Polytechnic School). The event has the support of the Mediterrani School of the University of Girona, the Faculty of Communication and International Relations at the Ramon Llull University, Barcelona University, ​​the Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​the Open University of Catalunya and Camilo University José Cela.

The first session will review the May 3rd “Broadband in Catalonia and Spain” (with the participation of Wifidom, Hispasat, Adamo, Juniper Networks, Accenture, Telefonica, Voz Telecom, Telnet and Xarxa Oberta de Catalunya) and afternoon “Services and content on broadband networks” with the round table “The technological evolution of Catalan and Spanish historic cable” (CECABLE, Alpha Enginyeria of Telecomunicacions, Acotec, Aire Networks, Xtra Telecom-Másmovil, Xarxes d’Internet i Comunicacions Ebre, SL, City of Mequinenza) and exhibitions Anvimur, Guifi.net and Neutrans.

At the second meeting, on May 4, we will study “Evolution of type and installation of cable broadband” (BT Global Services, Promax, Corning, Elecnor, Datwyler, KeyFiberProject, Technetix, Optral, W-onesys and Cablerunner Iberian) and, in the afternoon, “New horizons for the IT sector” (Watchguard, Bitdefender, Microsoft, Sharing and Panda Security Academy).

The third meeting, on 5 May under the title “Various impacts of broadband networks”, will begin with the traditional institutional roundtable, this time on “How the expansion of broadband networks translates into social progress?”, which will include representatives of CECABLE, Catalan, CNMC, FECEMINTE, Telecos.cat, COETTC and Xarxa Oberta of Catalonia. After that, the proposals for Agile OTT, Sony, Anxanet, Televisa and Barkeno will be exhibited.
