The XXIV Cable & Broadband Catalonia Congress will analyse interactivity and HbbTV

The interactivity of cable, broadband and HbbTV content will be the focus of the XXIV Cable & Broadband Catalonia Congress-2019, which will be held on 9 and 10 April and organised by the Cable Studies Center (CECABLE), Blanquerna-Universidad Ramon Llull, Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Técnicos de Telecomunicación de Cataluña (COETTC) and Acotec (Catalan Association of Cable Telecom Operators) in the Blanquerna Auditorium of the Universidad Ramon Llull, in the centre of Barcelona. “The flow of broadband is growing and providing a large number of interactive solutions, which, thanks to the expansion of HbbTV, can change consumer behaviour,” says the director of CECABLE and professor at the University, Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón.

The event, which will feature numerous conferences by companies and entities, is part of the project “New Forms of Interactive Advertising in Television, Internet and Digital Media. Real Applications in HbbTV” (URL, Cellnex and CECABLE), financed by the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. In addition to the URL, the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), the Mediterranean University School of the University of Girona, the Cesine University Centre, the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Open University of Catalonia, the Camilo José Cela University, the EAE Business School, Euncet and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia also collaborate in the conferences.

The conferences study strategic indicators of telecommunications, such as the pillars in the evolution of broadband technology, the relationship between content and receiver and the new market standards.
