Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón wins the Barcelona Floral Games (Golden Eglantine)
Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón, a writer from Terrassa, has won the “Englantina d’Or” (Golden Eglantine) at the 2026 “Jocs Florals” (Floral Games) of Sants, Hostafrancs, and la Bordeta in Barcelona with the poem “Entre roses i llibres” (Among Roses and Books). “I am happy and deeply moved by this literary award, which I received for a poem conveying what Catalonia inspires in me,” stated Professor and Doctor Fondevila. The award ceremony took place on Thursday, September 17, at the Sants-Montjuïc District headquarters.
The Organizing Committee for the “Jocs Florals” of Sants, Hostafrancs, and la Bordeta comprises the Societat Coral la Floresta, the Sants *Festa Major* Federation, the Federation of Associations, Entities, and Committees of Hostafrancs, the Federation of *Festa Major* Committees of la Bordeta, and the Creu Coberta Merchants’ Association, with the support of the Sants-Montjuïc District, the Secretariat of Entities of Sants, Hostafrancs, and la Bordeta, the Barcelona Provincial Council, and Sants3Ràdio. “All these accolades, such as the Golden Eglantine, are always a source of joy and a springboard for continuing to create, both in the literary and scientific realms,” explains Fondevila.
