Scientific Communication of Dr. Fondevila et altri on the use of smartphones for hotel reservations

“Using smartphones reservations for hotels in Barcelona for a business segment: empirical analysis” is the scientific communication of Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón, Dr. Gaspar Berbel, Mònica Muñoz, Dr. Pedro Mir and Dr. Elena Puiggrós on the congressional World Conference on Big Data, which conducted in Istanbul Aydin University from 19 to 21 November 2015. It was organized by the Association for Human, Science, Nature, Technology and Academic Education and World Education and Research Center.

In this paper the authors quantitatively analyzes the use of smartphones and social media for booking hotels in the enterprise segment. They conclude that the smartphone is the device most used for that purpose, followed by laptop and tablet, and Booking, TripAdvisor, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Foursquare are the most frequented social media.

The study is a research work of the Research Group on Broadband and Digital Journalism and the Research Group on Innovative Monetization Systems of Digital Journalism, Marketing and Tourism, by the CECABLE, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Mediterrani University School (University of Girona) and Blanquerna-Universitat Ramon Llull. The principal investigator of both groups is Dr. Joan Francesc Fondevila Gascón.
